Fabulous tour with excellent guide and driver We went on the full day excursion to St Moritz & Bernina Express last week, firstly we found Leila very helpful whilst booking the excursion. On the day we were collected near Palace Hotel Como the driver Roberto was careful, competent and skilled, the coach was new and very comfortable this was important on the hairpin bends as you felt safe. Our tour guide Julia was excellent, informative, and enthusiastic, she gave great advice on where to eat, local specialties, restrooms, local culture and ensured everyone had an enjoyable day.The tour itself was unbelievable from the beautiful villages we visited of Tirano, Chiavenna and St Moritz to the breathtaking scenery of the Alps viewed from the enchanting Bernina Express train, which was the highlight of our trip to Italy.I would recommend this efficient, professional tour company.

Well organized company Did 2 trips with this company from the grand Excelsior hotel cadenabbia, lake Como. The bus arrived on time for both trips, we booked the Bernina railway one from home to make sure we got on it. The booking process was very easy. Coach was clean and comfortable, our our guide was very knowledgeable and you could tell she enjoyed her job. The driver was excellent with the winding roads. We thought it was bit expensive when we booked but soon realised it was good value for money. We were out 9 hrs. I wouldn't want to have missed the spectacular views from the train, beautiful. Our first view of st Moritz was breathtaking as were the prices. We found a coop store at st Moritz bad and bought 2 pre packed sandwiches and 2 pieces of lovely strawberry cake and sat at the side of the lake to eat. Our 2nd trip was booked the day before we went at the hotel reception, this was to lake Maggiore. Another excellent trip with interesting guide and experienced driver, expensive again but well worth the money with boat trip to Isla Bella included. I would not hesitate in recommending this company for day trips around Lake Como

St Moritz, Milan & Balbienello villa Excursions We went on three excursions from Lake Como with this company and they were very professional, friendly and informative. They were well organised and the guide Julia (on Milan & St Moritz trips) was very knowledgeable about the venues we visited. I cannot remember the lady's name who was our 'Villa' guide, but she was amazing too. Wouldn't hesitate in booking with this company again. They were brilliant!
Fabulous tour & excellent Guide We just back from the Bernini Express trip to St Moritz. What can I say? Bus was there on time & no time wasted with people getting on board. Left Hotel Grand Menaggio at time stated in our ticket. Our guide Julia was excellent. Very knowledgeable & clear communication throughout the trip. It is obvious she loves her job. Driver was Fabrizo (hope I’ve spelt his name correctly. . Again highly rated..his skill at negotiating those bends in way back was excellent. Trip was as described. Coffee break on way to train followed by lovely journey on train to station approx 15 mins from St Moritz. Met by bus & driven to train stain in St Moritz. Julia then took time if us up to the top so we could have lunch or wander shops. Majority seemed to have lunch at Hauser. St Moritz was disappointing. Not sure what I expected but it was soulless with loads designers shops. Julia gave great advice re lunch or picnic. We bght some cake (fabulous but should be at €6 for 1 piece) and walked down to lake. Lake was beautiful & it was lovely sitting there eating picnic. A few others had clearly had same idea. Bus was then waiting on us at train station. Approx another hour through glorious scenery & we stopped at Chiavenna for short break of 45 mins. Most people either had quick drink or am ice cream. Toilets beside bus so it was laughable when we were all queuing with 50cents only to discover that if 1 person out the money in lock then 3 toilets inside and everyone held main door open for the others. back in bus and 1 hour later back in Menaggio. Overall a lovely day & a trip I would highly recommend. Julia def made it an enjoyable trip.
St Moritz and Bernina Express We had a delightful day trip from Como to the Bernina Express and St Moritz. The bus picked us up on time and Julia was a terrific guide. There was one stop for coffee on the way to the train and one stop on the way back after St Moritz. I am thrilled we had the opportunity to do this day trip.
Excellent trip This tour is excellent value at 60 euros per person. We were met at the ferry boat dock at 7.45 am and returned at 6.00 pm. A coach journey to get to the train. Julia, the guide, is very knowledgeable about the area and explained some of the history. We stopped for coffee along the way at Tirano and got our first picture of the train as it passed by the incredible church, well worth looking inside. The train ride itself was spectacular and we were so lucky with the weather, it was just perfect. We also enjoyed the time in St Moritz and Julia recommended the ice cream shop when we arrived in Chiavenna, I experienced my first taste of mushroom ice cream !
Great Day Trip To St Moritz Booked this trip after doing some internet research. For 60 Euros it was a fantastic day tour. The coach picked me up in front of the Grand Hotel Menaggio.. the tour guide was very informative and we had a great driver. We stopped at Tarino along the way before getting the Bernina Express from Poschiavo in Switzerland and an amazing one hour ride to St Moritz. The scenery was just stunning. We had a little time in St Moritz before the bus journey back via Chiavenna.Only down side.... one day is not enough.A well organised trip by this tour company. Communication was excellent.Five Stars all the way.
tour to Bernina Express Tour was amazing -views,tour guide,Bernina Express, stops in Italian cities and PRICE -all was impressive .Highly recommended .IT was highlight of our Lake Como vacation .
Well organised excursions. We went on three organised excursions with Il Porticciolo Viaggi during our stay in Lake Como. They were well priced and, as we had no car, they were an excellent way to getting to places we might have struggled to visit otherwise. We were picked up and dropped off at our hotel, the coaches were comfortable with excellent drivers with water available to purchase on board if required. Our guides, Gloria and Angelica were both excellent, clear and easy to understand. Our favourite of the three was probably the trip to Bergamo. This involved picking the coach up across the lake at Varenna. Bergamo is a beautiful city with much to do and we had the benefit of an excellent local guide in the afternoon who was obviously passionate about her city and really brought the place to life. Also, because there were no additional stops, we benefited from the maximum time in Bergamo. We also visited Lake Maggiore and Orta on another day. It was very enjoyable and Orta was probably my favourite stop of the day - very quiet and picturesque. The main problem for me was that the timings for the day did not really allow enough time to have lunch AND see the magnificent gardens on Isola Bella. It was a pity to have to skip the gardens in order to have additional time in Stresa which was not terribly interesting. It does, however, give us a good reason to return to Lake Maggiore! The final excursion was into Switzerland on the Bernina Express. Again, it was an enjoyable day but similarly to the Lake Maggiore trip, possibly too much is packed into the day. The morning and afternoon stops are in very pretty small Italian towns but you have no time to see anything of them. This also means that by the time you have lunch in St Moritz - even at the recommended 'faster' restaurant - there is no time to see anything else of the town before you have to return to the bus. The train trip itself lasts an hour and is wonderful. We were told that it doesn't matter where you sit but I think it does. Sit on the left of the train facing towards the front. On the whole, the views are better on that side...we were on the right! I also organised transfers to and from Milan and Lake Como with the company and these were excellent and completely hassle free. Our driver was there to meet us at the airport and then at our hotel at the end of the holiday. He was really friendly and although he had little English and we had even less Italian, we managed to communicate pretty well as he pointed out all sorts of sights on the journeys to and from our hotel. I would have no hesitation in using this company again.
